2020 has certainly been a year like none other, but the LawPay team has worked extra hard to be able to continue serving the legal industry in the same ways we have since 2005.

This includes hosting continuing legal education (CLE) webinars, building integrations with other legal tech innovators, growing relationships with state and local bar associations, attending and sponsoring industry events, and making ourselves available to you.

In short, we redoubled our efforts to ensure we were doing all that we could to help you thrive in 2020.

As leaders in legal tech, we recognize it is our unique responsibility to always promote the success and growth of legal professionals, even in extraordinary circumstances—especially in extraordinary circumstances.

To that end, we put together a list of a few ways we expanded our capabilities and resources to better support firms like yours in 2020 and for years to come.

120 CLE Seminars Hosted

We know that obtaining CLE credit can be time-consuming and somewhat laborious under the most normal of circumstances. This year, meeting CLE requirements was truly an exceptional undertaking.

We’re so fortunate to have practicing attorneys on staff who are genuinely passionate about teaching, allowing us to further our mission of supporting lawyers in all of their professional pursuits by offering engaging, informative CLE webinars (that you can attend at no additional cost!)

In 2020, Claude Ducloux, LawPay's Director of Education, and Jordan Turk, LawPay’s Legal Content & Compliance Manager, hosted over 120 CLE presentations on topics like labor and employment laws, effective client communication, the ethics of freelance legal services, and using online payments.

4 New Bar Association Partnerships Established

We understand just how valuable industry relationships can be. That’s why since the launch of LawPay over 15 years ago, one of our biggest priorities has been building partnerships with state, local, and specialty bar associations in the United States and Canada.

These relationships give our partner organizations the ability to offer exclusive benefits to their members while also providing us with the opportunity to form more personal connections with legal professionals like you across North America.

We were thrilled to expand our partnerships with four more bar associations in 2020, bringing our total to an incredible 125.

16 Technology Partners Added

At LawPay, we’re dedicated to making it as easy as possible for your firm to accept client payments and drive revenue. This means empowering you to accept payments regardless of the workflow or technology solutions you prefer.

At the start of the year, our total number of technology partnerships had already enabled us to accommodate the specific preferences of thousands of law firms. Now, after adding another 16 to our list, we are thrilled to report we have direct integrations with more than 50 leading practice management, timekeeping and invoicing, and business software solutions, allowing us to offer even more lawyers the power to accept payments in the same solutions they know and trust.

And thanks to our secure, open APIs, it’s easy for legal tech providers to build custom integrations that help elevate their users’ experience and grow their revenue stream.

166 Events Attended

One of the biggest disruptions we faced this year was when nearly every event went virtual in the spring. Even though we couldn’t connect in person, we still enjoyed having opportunities to speak with you virtually and learn how we can improve LawPay to better support your needs.

We are so glad our intrepid events team took this challenge head on, adapted their strategy, partnered with our marketing team to create new digital collateral, and managed to have at least one LawPay representative at 166 different legal conferences/exhibitions.

Thank you to those of you who took the time to speak with us at these virtual events! We are so grateful for your feedback and suggestions.

150+ Questions Answered at 9 Coffee with LawPay Sessions

Since our first session in July 2019, our Coffee with LawPay events have been a favorite. For us, one of the best things about Coffee with LawPay is that it gives you the chance to interact with both the LawPay team as well as other members of the LawPay community in a unique and personal way.

You can take a nice mid-morning or mid-afternoon break, open up the Coffee with LawPay livestream, and get real-time answers to your questions from our hosts, Bryan Lieber and Annie Hinners, or fellow LawPay fans.

In 2020, Bryan and Annie answered over 150 of your thoughtful and engaging questions, and offered more than 30 tips and tricks about LawPay, the client experience, remote work, trust accounting, and end-of-year finances.

We really can’t thank our Coffee with LawPay participants enough. Without your energetic engagement, helpful feedback, and insightful recommendations, Coffee with LawPay would not be the success that it is.
